Ecology of the Marmara Sea: Formation and Interactions of Marine Mucilage, and Recommendations for Solutions

Mucilage, which has recently been observed intensively in the Marmara Sea and has been on the public agenda due to its visual, ecological and commercial negative effects, poses a danger not only for today but also for our future. In this context, the Presidency of the Turkish Academy of Sciences organized a workshop for expert scientists to evaluate this environmental problem, and thanks to the intensive work carried out in a very short period of time, it is the most comprehensive book prepared on the subject, as well as a guide with solution suggestions. The book is presented for the benefit of the public and presents the roadmap to be followed in the fight against mucilage; It includes current studies on the subject and solution proposals for the problem by competent scientists from different scientific disciplines and consists of approximately 300 pages.
