Vâkı'ât-ı Rûz-merre
Abdullah bin Ibrahim, known by the pen names Üsküdarî or Mevkufatî, is one of the most important Ottoman historians. It is estimated that Üsküdarî Abdullah was born in the 1640s and died after 1701. Üsküdarî’s four-volume history, titled Vâkı‘ât-ı Ruzmerre, chronicles the events of the years 1688–1693 on a day-by-day basis. Üsküdarî’s work is a unique masterpiece in Ottoman historiography. In the work, the author recounts the events of the period, daily life, the organization of Ottoman military campaigns, the Enderun, and the Ottoman administrative structure based on his own observations, accounts he heard from statesmen, and documentary evidence.
