Topkapı Sarayı III. Ahmed Kütüphanesi (Enderun Kütüphanesi)

This work, devoted to the III. Ahmet Library of Topkapı Palace, was conceived as a collective intellectual endeavor addressing a range of topics, from the construction of the library to its book collections, the social groups that made use of them, the ways in which the library was used and books were borrowed, and the diversity of its readers. The book includes articles prepared by experts in their respective fields, covering an economic assessment of the library’s construction register, its architectural structure and elements, its restorations, and the list of books endowed by the Sultan. The library’s vakfiye, expense register, lending register documenting its readers, and documents concerning the circulation of books in the Ottoman Empire are included in the appendices.
