Prepared for publication by TÜBA Full Member Prof. Dr. Feridun Emecen and Prof. Dr. Arif Bilgin, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zekai Mete, this work is an extremely important source for the history of Ottoman administration. Studies on the history of Ottoman administration do not yet possess the breadth and richness necessary to allow for theoretical generalisations. The primary reason for this is that the documents and registers in the Ottoman archives constitute an immense body of material, and detailed classifications of this corpus, which would facilitate researchers' work, have not yet been completed. Nevertheless, register series that have been discovered by chance (even if only incidentally) and redefined can reveal valuable data shedding light on specific aspects of administrative history. This work, published by TÜBA, focuses precisely on the publication and general evaluation of ledgers (identified in the Ottoman archives and possessing unique characteristics) that document the administrative years of Ottoman princes (şehzade). By the late 16^(th) century, these princes were sent to predetermined regions to undergo a sort of 'internship' in preparation for their potential future reigns. The book contains records kept during the princely years of Ottoman Sultans Selim II and Mehmed III. The result of considerable effort, this book is an indispensable source, particularly from the perspectives of state administration and provincial governance. Additionally, the book includes images of all the archival ledgers published on CD.
