es-Sahâifü'l İlâhiyye
es-Sahâifü’l-İlâhiyye is a significant work of philosophical kalam by Şemseddin Semerkandî (d. 702/1303), who was raised in the Mâverâünnehir region. His original approach to addressing and analyzing matters of faith, along with his masterful use of reason grounded in scriptural texts to resolve problems, has distinguished Semerkandî in his field. In this work, the author successfully reflects his intellectual depth and, in doing so, transcends the boundaries of traditional kalam culture to adopt a unique structure. Although Semerkandî was raised in the Maturidi tradition, he remained free from sectarian dogmatism; in his own words, he strove to “reach the Truth,” adopting a conciliatory stance rather than a critical one, and presenting his rich body of knowledge in a constructive style. es-Sahâifü’l-İlâhiyye, translated by Ramazan Biçer, is one of the most significant and important legacies of Turkish-Islamic culture.
