Enîsü'l - Celîs
Translated from Persian into Turkish at the request of Ottoman Sultan Murad II Hüdavendigar, this work is an important political treatise containing advice for the Sultan. Political treatises, which are important products of the Turkish-Islamic tradition, were generally written to provide sultans and high-ranking officials with information on state administration and etiquette, to offer advice, to provide guidance, and to point out shortcomings and present recommendations. These political treatises address topics such as the qualities required of rulers and administrators, the principles of state administration, the responsibilities of state officials, and how they should treat the people. Enîsü'l-Celîs, one of the most important examples of these treatises, was edited for publication by Azmi Bilgin, and a facsimile of the work has been included at the end of the book.
