The Life Story of the First Turkish Hittitologist: Sedat Alp

First published in 2004, Prof. Dr. Alp’s life story was written as an original text in his own words. The second edition, published in 2025, preserved the originality of the first text and included letters, official correspondence, and invitation documents from Alp’s personal archive. Correspondence with government officials, ambassadors, and foreign scholars was also included. A special section was dedicated to the invitations he received to teach and deliver lectures at various universities and scientific institutions. Information and images regarding the “Sedat Alp Museum”—established at Bilkent University with books and personal belongings donated by his family to the university, and serving as an important reference and source of inspiration, particularly for archaeology and history students—were also shared with readers in the book.
