Academy Prize Conference on “Brain Damage Depolarizations” from 2017 TÜBA Academy Prize Laureate Assoc. Prof. Cenk Ayata from Harvard University was held on December 11, 2017 at Gazi University, Faculty of Medicine.
Gazi University Rector Prof. İbrahim Uslan, TÜBA President Prof. Ahmet Cevat Acar, TÜSEB President and TÜBA Principal Member Prof. Fahrettin Keleştemur and TÜBA Associate Member Prof. Hayrunnisa Bolay Belen made the openning speeches. TÜBA Vice-President Prof. Ahmet Nuri Yurdusev, TÜBA Council Member and Necmettin Erbakan University Rector Prof. Muzaffer Şeker, Gazi University, Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Mehmet Sadık Demirsoy also attended the conference.
Cenk Ayata spoke in brain injury depolarizations, neurosurgery, neurology, neurological intensive care and neuroscience areas in the conference exceeding two hours. Prof. Ayata stated that, thanks to his point of view, he could find an easier explanation in case of clinical cases. Continuing to speak with the visual presentation he prepared, Prof. Ayata answered the questions during his talk and at the end of the conference.
TÜBA President Prof. Ahmet Cevat Acar stated that Academy Prizes of TÜBA were initiated in 2015 and they were very pleased with the interest shown at the first years. Saying that it is an important motivation to take the awards under the auspices of the Presidency, Prof. Acar stated that the works conducted by TÜBA are carried out by members of TÜBA or volunteer scientists. Prof. Acar also gave information about Academy activities.
