TÜBA Full Member and TÜBA Council Member Prof. Dr. Kadriye Arzum Erdem Gürsan was invited to be a member of the scientific advisory board of the TALANTA Journal, which is indexed by Science Citation Index and has an impact value of 6.1 (H-index: 178).

Who is Prof. Dr. Kadriye Arzum Erdem Gürsan?
In 1993, she graduated from Ege University, Faculty of Pharmacy. In 1996, she received her master's degree and in 2000 her PhD degree from the same faculty in the Department of Analytical Chemistry. She worked as an assistant professor between 2000-2003 and as an associate professor between 2003-2009 at Ege University, Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences, Department of Analytical Chemistry.
In 2001, she was awarded the TÜBA- GEBİP Award within the scope of the Outstanding Young Scientist Awards Program (GEBİP). She was awarded the TUBITAK Incentive Award in the field of Science-Chemistry in 2006 and the "TUBITAK Science Award" in the field of Health Sciences in 2015 by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK). In 2007, she was elected as an Associate Member of TUBA and in 2016 she was elected as a Full Member of TUBA. In 2017, Prof. Gürsan was elected as a member of the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Committee of the Association of Academies and Societies of Sciences in Asia (AASSA) for the period 2017-2019, and in 2019, she was re-elected as a member of AASSA-WISE for the period 2019-2021. In 2017, she received the title of Fellow of The Royal Society of Chemistry - Fellow (FRSC), which is given to respected scientists who have done important work in the field of chemistry.
Prof. Dr. Arzum Erdem Gürsan, who was selected as one of the researchers supported in 2021 within the scope of the 2247-A National Leading Researchers Program carried out by TÜBİTAK- Directorate of Scientist Support Programs, has more than 210 articles in internationally indexed refereed journals within the scope of SCI/SCI-E, more than 30 invited papers in national and international meetings and conferences, 1 international and 1 national book edited by him, 15 international book chapters and 5 reviews. Gürsan, who has 7 national patents registered between 2018-2022, has 7430 total citations and an h-index of 45 according to the current Web of Science (WoS) records dated June 10, 2023.
Prof. Arzum Erdem Gürsan has many national and international collaborative studies in the field of development and application of electrochemical biosensors based on drugs, enzymes and nucleic acids. She conducts her scientific research on "development and applications of new generation biosensor/ aptasensor technologies based on single and multiple measurements for the determination of drug-DNA interactions, aptamer-protein interactions, sequence-selective nucleic acid hybridization and biomarkers based on hereditary and infectious diseases". Arzum Erdem Gürsan aims to develop electrochemical biosensors based on magnetic particles, carbon nanotubes, graphene and graphene-based nanomaterials, nanorods, nanocables, nanoparticles, dendrimers, conductive polymers and biopolymers. She is also working on the development of electrochemical sensor integrated analytical systems for the determination of different analytes in the environmental, food, and health fields.
She is an associate editor of the journal "Biosensors and Bioelectronics" published by Elsevier, which is in the Q1 category and has an impact factor of 10,618, and co-editor of the journal "Biosensors and Bioelectronics: X", which has an open access feature related to this journal, since 2021. Prof. Dr. Kadire Arzum Erdem Gürsan has been continuing her studies at Ege University Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences, Department of Analytical Chemistry since 2009.
