TÜBA Delegation Attends the UNESCO IDSSD 2026 Global Conference

TÜBA President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker and TÜBA Council Member Prof. Dr. Bekir Salih attended the “International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development (IDSSD) 2026 Global Conference” organized by UNESCO.

Held as part of the IDSSD, which was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly for the 2024–2033 period, the conference brought together high-level representatives, scientists, and international organizations from around the world with the aim of strengthening the role of science in achieving sustainable development, advancing science diplomacy, and enhancing international scientific collaboration.

Held at UNESCO’s Headquarters in France, the conference contributed to the development of science-based international collaborations toward sustainable development goals among member states, international organizations, science academies, universities, and research institutions. The conference featured sessions on science diplomacy, science policies, open science, STEM education, artificial intelligence, climate change, biodiversity, scientific solutions for the Sustainable Development Goals, and the implementation of the International Decade of Science for Sustainable Development. Participants shared their perspectives on strengthening the role of science in solving global challenges and fostering international collaboration.
