TÜBA Council Member Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker has been appointed as Rector in the Necmettin Erbakan University

TÜBA Council Member Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker, who had been the rector of the Necmettin Erbakan University already, appointed on December 9, 2014 to continue in this capacity for the next term.

According to the statement released by the Presidential Press Center; Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker was appointed as the Rector of the Necmettin Erbakan University in accordance with the Republic of Turkey Constitution article 130 and article 13 of the Higher Education Law from among candidates recommended by the Higher Education Board.

Who is Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker?
Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker was born in 1961, in Izmir. He graduated from the Bursa Uludağ University Veterinary Faculty in 1986. In 1995 he completed his doctorate in England, at the Leicester University in the field of Human Anatomy. He became an associate professor in the year 2000 and professor in 2006. Serving in a number of different capacities from membership to chairman on the Turkish Anatomy and Clinical Anatomy Association Board of Directors, he also undertook the position of General Secretary of the Basic Medical Sciences Platform. While serving as the Meram Medical Faculty Education and Informatics Department President, he was appointed as the Rector of Konya University in 2010 and still continues as the Rector of Necmettin Erbakan University. With memberships in various commissions under the Higher Education Board, Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker was elected to become a Principle Member of TÜBA in 2012 and continues to be a TÜBA Council Member. Prof. Dr. Şeker also serves on the editorial board of many scientific journals.
