Gold Medals are Presented to TÜBA Honorary Members Prof. Aziz Sancar and Prof. Kemal Karpat by the UTA
During the award ceremony organized at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on March 28 by the International Turkish Academy (UTA), TÜBA Honorary Member and Nobel Prize Recipient Prof. Aziz Sancar, TÜBA Honorary Member Prof. Kemal Karpat and Edward Allworth were presented with gold medals.
Prof. Sancar, Prof. Karpat and Prof. Allworth were deemed worthy of the gold medal for their contributions towards reinforcing the cooperation between the communities to deepen their cultural bonds with the scientific work they have conducted on the Silk Road and the Central Asian countries the road passes through.
The award ceremony held in the framework of the international symposium on “The Synergy on the Silk Road itinerary for the UN 2030 Agenda” organized by the International Turkish Academy, was attended by senior officials from the United Nations Headquarters as well as international organization chairs, diplomats and leading academics.
