GEBİP and TEÇEP Awards
The 2016 applications for the TÜBA Young Scientist Outstanding Achievement Award (GEBİP) and Science Copyright and Translation Award (TEÇEP) have started.
In the written announcement from TÜBA stating that the 2016 applications would be accepted through December 21, 2015; it is stated that since 2001, 373 young scientists who stood out with their outstanding scientific studies have been rewarded in the scope of GEBİP and in the scope of TEÇEP 180 Turkish copyright and translation works for universities with scientific content have been rewarded since 2008.
On this subject, TÜBA President Prof. Dr Ahmet Cevat Acar said; “Encouraging successful scientists and the production of scientific works is critical in terms of the scientific and total development of our country. The TÜBA-GEBİP, awarded by our Academy to encourage outstanding young scientists, and TÜBA-TEÇEP, an award to encourage good quality Turkish scientific works production, are among the most reputable awards in our country. These awards, which are presented as a result of an objective and meticulous evaluation process, serve to support and increase Turkish and Turkey originating scientific work. We consider the fact that award applications and the support and encouragement provided by universities on this subject increasing to be a very pleasing development in terms of the impact and benefit of these awards.”
Recipients of the GEBİP Awards are given a grant of 20,000 TL per year for 3 years. Also financial aid totaling 6,000 TL for thesis work of active GEBİP Award recipients who are doctorate students and up to 4000TL for organizing national and international meetings in the scope of scientific studies of an international nature is provided per year for three years. For the next 5 years after the first 3 years, as support for scientific meetings and activities abroad, TL equivalent to $1500 for European countries and TL equivalent to $2000 for Non-European countries is provided once a year. In the scope of TEÇEP a “grant” of 20,000 TL for copyright works and 12,500 TL for translated works, the Honorable Mention Award provides a grant of 7,000TL for copyright works and 4,000 TL for translated works.
