“Aziz Sancar Conference” from TÜBA and Bilkent University
The TÜBA Honorary member Nobel-winner Prof. Aziz Sancar’s conference entitled “Mechanistic Basis of DNA Repair” was held on May 18, 2016 at the Concert Hall of Bilkent University’s Fine Arts Faculty, organized by TÜBA and Bilkent University.
Gwen Sancar, Prof. Ahmet Cevat Acar the President of TÜBA, Prof. Abdullah Atalar a full member of TÜBA and the chancellor of Bilkent University, other university chancellors, members of TÜBA along with successful students, teachers and academics from various provinces attended the conference.
A thousand-strong audience, among which students from various science-oriented high schools and foreign language high schools, university students from different universities, chancellors, deans, scientists, teachers, the press and TÜBA members listened to the 2015 Nobel Prize Winner Prof. Sancar who defined the nucleotide excision repair and the mechanism of the biological clock as a result of his scientific studies started with photolyase enzyme.
