A Cooperation Agreement has Been Signed Between TÜBA and The International Turkic Academy

International Turkish Academy (ITA) Chairman Prof. Dr. Darkhan Kydyrali visited TÜBA Chairman Prof. Dr. Ahmet Cevat Acar on March 5, 2015.

During the visit in which information and views were exchanged on agreements and possible joint project concerning the relations and cooperation between TÜBA and ITA, Prof. Dr. Darkhan Kydyrali and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Cevat Acar signed a “TÜBA and ITA Cooperation Agreement”.

While an agreement was reached on developing cooperation between the two academies and joint projects, the path was opened for changes in information, scientists and publications between the academies. TÜBA Assistant Chairman Prof. Dr. Ahmet Nuri Yurdusev and TÜBA Chairman Advisor Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kaya were also in attendance at the meeting.

TÜBA Chairman Prof. Dr. Ahmet Cevat Acar emphasized the importance of the agreement between TÜBA and The International Turkic Academy and said “We as TÜBA place great importance on cooperating and improving our relations with countries and their Academies, with which we share a common history and culture. This cooperation agreement we have signed is very pleasing in terms of improving our relations with the ITA and other Turkish and regional academies and we see this as a very important step. I am very pleased to see that we have common views and approaches to cooperation and joint projects with ITA Chairman Prof. Dr. Kydyrali and we which to express our appreciation to them at this time”.

The International Turkic Academy

The International Turkic Academy is one of the organizations within the “Organization of Turkish Speaking Countries” known in abbreviation as the “Turkic Council”, established in 2009 by Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. The Academy, headquartered in Astana, in line with its mission to “Help the scientific organizations of the Turkic people on the subjects of science and education and support the enterprises and cooperation of intellectuals in countries where Turkish is spoken”, aims to conduct activities for the purpose of “becoming a unique center which determines the contributions of the Turkic civilization to humanity and coordinates academic studies concerning the Turkic world”.
