2022 TÜBA GEBİP and TESEP Awards Announced
Conducted under the auspices of the Presidency; The names that will receive the TÜBA-GEBİP (Outstanding Young Scientist) and TÜBA-TESEP (Scientific Copyright Work) Awards have been announced. The awards will be handed over to their owners by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at a ceremony to be held at the Presidential Complex.
Reminding that TÜBA GEBİP and TESEP Award programs have been carried out for many years, TÜBA President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker said that the TÜBA-GEBİP Awards, which is one of the first examples of the formation of the 'Young Academy' in the world and which has an exceptional position in our country, are open to scientists working in all fields of science and said: With the evaluation made among the applications of young scientists under the age of 39 who have decided to work in Turkey, the winners of this year's award have been determined. I heartily congratulate our 34 young scientists who won the TÜBA GEBIP Award in 2022 and our 7 authors with the TESEP Award, who made us proud with their qualified Turkish scientific copyright works.
Congratulating all the candidates who applied to the program, President Şeker said, “As the Academy, every work we see at all stages of the program and every scientist we meet is very important and admirable for us. In this respect, I would like to thank not only the award recipients, but also all the scientists who applied, worked devotedly to evaluate these applications meticulously, and of course, all the award winners.”
TÜBA-GEBİP Awards
TÜBA-GEBİP Award, which is given every year within the scope of the mission of encouraging, appreciating and rewarding TÜBA scientists, in 2022; won 34 outstanding young scientists from 21 different universities and institutions, including the Ahmet and Nezahat Keleşoğlu TÜBA-GEBİP Special Award for Pharmacy. Thus, the number of scientists who have won the TÜBA-GEBİP Award so far has increased to 610. The promotion and relations of Turkey in the international scientific community have a special importance in terms of encouraging high-achieving young scientists and continuing their studies in Turkey.
TÜBA-TESEP Awards
Within the scope of the Scientific Copyright Work Program (TESEP), which aims to encourage the production of qualified Turkish copyrighted works for universities; In 2022, 1 work in the field of Social Sciences and Natural and Engineering Sciences, 1 work in the field of Social Sciences, 1 work in the field of Social Sciences, 1 work in the field of Social Sciences, 1 work in the field of Social Sciences, 2 works in Halil İnalcık Special Award, 1 work in Mehmet Genç Special Award, 1 work in the Noteworthy Work (Honorable Mention) Award, a total of 7 works were deemed worthy of the TÜBA-TESEP Award. Thus, the number of awarded works so far increased to 226.
About TÜBA- GEBIP Awards
It has been given since 2001 to reward and encourage high-achieving young scientists working in the fields of nature, engineering, health sciences and social sciences, to continue their scientific studies in Turkey, to form their own working groups, and to reward and encourage internationally qualified projects and publications originating from Turkey. Within the scope of the original and high demand program, in addition to financial support of 35.000₺ for award winners every year for 3 years, additional support of 15.000₺ each year for doctoral students at the thesis stage and consultancy by academic members are also provided.
About TÜBA-TESEP Awards
It is given to encourage the writing and publication of qualified Turkish scientific copyright works at the university level in all fields of science. It was decided to continue the program called TEÇEP, which started in 2008 and awarded copyright and translated works until 2016, as TESEP, which aims to promote copyrighted works from 2017. As of this year, the "Halil İnalcık Special Award" and the "Fuat Sezgin Special Award", established by the Academy Council as part of the TÜBA-TESEP Awards, on behalf of our Honorary Members who have added value to the works published in certain fields of science, world science in their field and honored our country with their national and international achievements. "Mehmet Genç Special Award" is given. In 2022, 25.000₺ is presented for the TESEP Copyright Work Award, Fuat Sezgin Special Award, Halil İnalcık Special Award and Mehmet Genç Special Award, and 15.000₺ is presented for the Notable Copyright Work Award (honourable mention).
