UNESCO and L’Oreal Awards to TÜBA Members

TÜBA Associate Member Assoc. Prof. Bilge Demirköz and 2016 TÜBA-GEBİP Member Assoc. Prof. İmren Hatay Patır who were selected under the For Women in Science program that has been jointly organized by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and L'Oreal for 15 years, received their prizes.

Assoc. Prof. Melahat Bilge Demirköz from Middle East Technical University (METU) – Department of Physics was shown worthy of Rising Talents Awards of the program.

Six young science women who are qualifying the prize in the field of “Life Sciences and Material Sciences” including Assoc. Prof. İmren Hatay Patır in the L'Oreal's program, which aims to draw attention to the intellectual contribution of women, gender inequality and create role models, were given a $15.000 scholarship to use in their research.

The science women selected in the field of material sciences: Assoc Prof. Pınar Zeynep Çulfaz Emecen from Middle East Technical University, Assoc. Prof. Hilal Demir Kıvrak from Yuzuncu Yil University.
