Summer School on “International Law, Diplomacy and Cooperation” to Turkic World by TÜBA
The Union of Academies of Sciences of the Turkic World Summer School on “International Law, Diplomacy and Cooperation” hosted by TÜBA will be in Istanbul between 17-21 July 2017.
The term presidency of the Union of Academies of Sciences of the Turkic World, established in 2015 in Astana with the participation of the Presidents of Science Academies in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Bashkortostan, Tatarstan and International Turkic Academy, is run by TÜBA President Prof. Ahmet Cevat Acar.
Saying that “TÜBA is the national academy of our country covering all the scientific fields,” Prof. Acar continued his words about this issue as follows: “The 2016-17 term presidency of the Union of Academies of Sciences of the Turkic World is being conducted by us. In this context, as one of the activities we planned for this year, we are organizing a Summer School on “International Law, Diplomacy and Cooperation” hosted by our Academy. The summer school is open to member academies, other regional academies, and young scholars and professionals working in this field. In the event, international relations and cooperation will be addressed regarding aspects of the world of science in general. With the summer school, we aim to contribute to the development of relations and cooperation among academicians, scientists, and professionals working in this field of the sister, neighbor and close countries.”
Summer School on “International Law, Diplomacy, and Cooperation” will be held between 17-21 July 2017 in Rabi (Fourth) Madrasa which is located in Suleymaniye, Istanbul and built by Mimar Sinan in the 16th century.
The Summer School will include regional topics as well as titles such as the basis of the international legal order, technology, cooperation in the fields of development and environment, friendly settlement of disputes, international organizations, and cooperation. The program, which is designed for young experts, both public and private, graduate students and young academicians in social sciences, includes visits to various institutions in Istanbul. The program, which will cover travel and accommodation expenses of the participants by TÜBA, will be carried out by a group of internationally recognized academicians and a special certificate will be given at the closing ceremony.
Applicants will be asked to submit the application form attached and return the form together with Curriculum Vitae, letter of motivation describing their purpose in attending the Summer School and a letter of reference. Criteria for applications are that participants should have a good basis in a discipline of social sciences (broadly defined) and good command of the English language. Nominations will be forwarded to the organizers by national academies directly.
The deadline for applications and nominations is 1 of June 2017.
