"Guidelines for Stem Cell Research and Clinical Translation" by Prof. Alp Can and His Team

The Turkish translation of International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) the Guidelines for Stem Cell Research and Clinical Translation was completed by TÜBA Stem Cell Working Group Member Prof. Alp Can and his team in May 2017.

ISSCR Guidance Update Task Team of that Bioethics Expert Jonathan Kimmelman conducts presidency and consists 25 scientists from nine countries as well as ethics and health care policy experts published the guidelines by reviewing the previous guidelines in 2016. George Daley and Insoo Hyunda, who also chaired the preparation of guidelines published in 2006 and 2008, also contributed to the study.

Prof. Alp Can: “A 4-person team for translation worked diligently for 4.5 months."

A 4-person team, consists TÜBA Stem Cell Working Group Member and Ankara University (AU) Faculty of Medicine Department of Histology and Embryology Faculty Member Prof. Alp Can as president, AU Department Biomedical Engineering Faculty Member Asst. Prof. Açelya Yılmazer, AU Faculty of Medicine Exp. Dr. Ferda Topal Çelikkan and Istanbul Birunu University Faculty of Medicine Faculty Member Dr. Ece Nazlı Güngör Ordueri, translated the guide into Turkish.

The translation will be published as an additional issue of the Journal of Türkiye Klinikleri in the coming months. In addition, the highlights of the guide will also appear in the Stem Cell E-Bulletin.
