The study titled “From Presence to Power: Women Leading in Science,” featured in the 2026 global report prepared by the Inter-Academy Partnership (IAP), highlights women who shape scientific institutions, advance research, and guide future generations. TÜBA Full Member Prof. Dr. K. Arzum Erdem Gürsan was included in the study among scientists who have attained leadership positions despite persistent structural barriers.
TÜBA has contributed 8 more significant works to the scientific community as part of its “Turkish-Islamic Scientific and Cultural Heritage (TİBKM) Project.” Launched in 2014 and continued under the patronage of the Presidency since 2018, the project has now published a total of 70 works.
Due to high demand, the application deadline for the 2026 TÜBA-Outstanding Young Scientist Awards (TÜBA-GEBİP) and TÜBA Scientific Copyright Awards (TÜBA-TESEP) programs, administered by TÜBA, has been extended to April 10, 2026.
The meeting of the Research Ethics and Integrity Council (REIC) of the Alliance of European Academies (ALLEA), of which TÜBA is a member, was hosted by the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities. Prof. Dr. Zeliha Koçak Tufan attended the meeting on behalf of TÜBA.
The patent application titled “A Method for Zearalenone Analysis Using a Sensor Based on Electrochemical Measurement Technique” by Prof. Dr. Kadriye Arzum Erdem Gürsan, a Full Member of TÜBA and a faculty member in the Department of Analytical Chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ege University, has been granted by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.
