Traditional TÜBA-GEBİP Annual Evaluation Meeting
TÜBA-Outstanding Young Scientist Awards Program (GEBİP) Annual Evaluation Meeting was held at Balıkesir University.
With GEBIP, which rewards young scientists who stand out with their research and encourages their qualified research in Turkey, high-achieving young scientists are supported financially and academically for three years. Award-winning scientists, who are also natural members of TÜBA Young Academy, were held at the Traditional TÜBA-GEBİP Annual Evaluation Meeting, which included the presentation and evaluation of their academic activities.
39 TÜBA Members met with 57 TÜBA Young Academy Members
TÜBA Honorary Member Prof. Dr. Okyay Source; He made a presentation at the Young Academy Conference titled “Science, Technology and Industry in the 21st Century”. On the second day of the program, GEBIP Award-winning young scientists made presentations on their scientific projects and the work they carried out in the last year in six simultaneous sessions in the fields of Science, Engineering Sciences, Health and Life Sciences, and Social Sciences. Issues related to the evaluation and development of projects were discussed in the sessions. Afterwards, a general evaluation session was held with the participation of all award winners and academy members. Faculty members and students also attended the sessions.
TÜBA President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker said that evaluation meetings are important for young scientists. Şeker stated that GEBİP is a support program to provide new and qualified manpower to the competition that the country puts forward in the scientific arena and said: "There is an international competition in this regard. Our scientists, our GEBIP Award-winning members, in short, all over our country and abroad. Our academics outside of Turkey are carrying out serious international studies. Our heads high in the international arena depends on our efforts and efforts. I wish our scientific efforts, which we define as 'national technology move', which will enable us to stand with the most basic economic power, will be abundant and fruitful." said. President Şeker also informed that the 2022 TÜBA-TÜBİTAK Awards will be presented to their owners with a ceremony to be held on December 28.
