MIT Technology Review and TÜBA Cooperation

The winners have been designated in the ‘Innovators Under 35’ Competition organized through cooperation between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s independent publication the MIT Technology Review and TÜBA in which 10 Turkish young people were determined to be most creative with their high social impact projects towards solving current issues and shaping the future.

The MIT Technology Review, published by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is one of the world’s oldest technology magazines and suppoArts young people who have dedicated themselves to solving global issues that have a direct impact on society with the ‘Innovators Under 35’ Competition, which is organized in a different country each year to introduce the leaders of the new generation in pioneer technologies to the world, and is regarded as the most important global authority and messenger of the future in technology.

The MIT Technology Review, which aims to encourage people to learn developing technologies and undertakes to analyze the commercial, political and social outcomes of these technologies and introduce the innovators who will create technology focused projects that will shape the lives of people in the future and command economic development; announced the names of this year’s 10 Turkish young people who shape the future of technology.

She uses the mechanical energy of the heart to operate the flexible piezoelectric implant, (pacemaker).

He developed Turkey’s first hybrid geothermal – solar energy facility.

Duygu Kayaman, 25
She developed software that simplifies the daily activities of blind people.

Hamdi Torun, 33
He developed a new scanner-seeker microscope that improves biological research.

Kaan Kayabalı, 31
He created a new ‘news and social content platform’ in Turkey.

Mehmet Vuran, 21
He is working on techniques to develop underground wireless communication systems to improve irrigation efficiency.

Sedat Nizamoğlu, 32
He provides nanocrystal based LED devices and efficient and high quality light production.

Tolga Kurt, 34
He developed software for companies that provides decision support services.

Umut Gürkan, 32
He enables tracking and control of sickle cell anemia with a biochip.
