“Science20 Dialogue Forum” on “Improving Global Health” and 2017 S20 Statement

“Science20 Dialogue Forum” on “Improving Global Health” meeting was held in the framework of the "2017 G20 Summit" in Halle, Germany on March 22, 2017, hosted by Leopoldina – German National Academy of Sciences with the participation of the president and representatives of national science academies of G20 countries. Representing TÜBA and Turkey, TÜBA President Prof. Ahmet Cevat Acar and TÜBA Council Member Prof Muzaffer Şeker attended the meeting.
In the first session of the meeting in the afternoon, “S20 2017 Statement” titles as "Improving Global Health: Strategies and Tools to Combat Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases", prepared in the meeting with participation of the representatives of national science academies of G20 countries and TÜBA Council Members Prof. Fahrettin Keleştemur and Prof. Muzaffer Şeker on January 24-26, 2016 in Halle and signed by the presidents of S20 academies, was presented to German Chancellor Angela Merkel and announced to the public.
The 2017 S20 Statement, drafted by G20 national science academies within the framework of the 2017 Summit, includes strategies and policy recommendations that can be implemented to fight against communicable and non-communicable diseases to improve human health at the global level.
