ANUBiH Celebrated the 65th Year

TÜBA President Professor Ahmet Cevat Acar joint the celebrations of 65th Year of the Establishment of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ANUBiH) and the 50th Year of The Issue of The Academy Law organized in Sarajevo on October, 27-28.
The Minister of Social Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Adil Osmanovic, Former Bosnian Presidential Council President Eyup Ganic, Members of the Academy, Rector of the University of Sarajevo, diplomatic mission representatives, TÜBA President Professor Acar, the presidents and representatives of National Science Academies of Germany, Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Slovenia also participated to the celebrations.
Professor Acar, spoke at the ceremony in Sarajevo City Hall, said that Turkey and Bosnia&Herzegovina are two friendly countries with common backgrounds and values and the scientific relations and business cooperation between academies of both countries should be developed as it is in other fields. Acar stated that they are always open to the development of relations and business union under the cooperation agreement signed between TÜBA and ANUBiH two years ago.
ANUBiH President Milos Trifkovic, speaking at the meeting held under the auspices of Bosnian Herzegovina Presidency President Bakir Izzetbegovic, stressed that the Bosnian Herzegovina government fully supports the implementation of the mission of the Academy and in this context also fully supports the field of arts and culture as the scientific field. Trifkovic also said “Our Academy has fulfilled its mission with full responsibility for the past 65 years and will continue to bring it thereafter. Despite all conditions, we have always been successful in the relationship between academia and science within our possibilities.”
