Türkiye's first space traveler Alper Gezeravcı will be going to the International Space Station. The Launch Ceremony, which will take place on January 19, 2024 at 00:49 TSI, can be followed from Istanbul Taksim Square and Ankara Kızılay Square. The planetariums will be opened for members of the press starting at 10:00 on January 17.
Prof. Dr. Zeki Candan, TÜBA Young Academy Member, Founder of Biomaterials and Nanotechnology Research Group | BioNanoTeam and Lecturer at Istanbul University Faculty of Forestry, Department of Forest Industrial Engineering, was elected to the European Union COST Action CA20127 Working Group.
TÜBA-GEBİP Award winners; Prof. Dr. Göktuğ Karpat, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sündüs Erbaş Çakmak, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mert Gür, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Acar, Dr. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hamdi Dibeklioğlu were awarded the "METU Prof. Dr. Mustafa N. Parlar Education and Research Foundation Award" for 2023.

The work titled "Local History of the National Struggle 1918-1923", prepared in cooperation with TÜBA and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University, was published in 13 volumes under the editorship of Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlhami Danış, Assoc. Dr. Mustafa Göleç and Assoc. Dr. Zeynep Kevser Şerefoğlu. The first edition of the work was presented to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the 100th Anniversary TÜBA-TÜBİTAK Science Awards Ceremony.
