Prof. Dr. Yves Quéré Visited Turkey
Prof. Dr. Yves Quéré, previous co-chair of InterAcademy Panel (IAP) and member of the International Relations Committee of the French Academy of Sciences, gave lectures and participated in panels on Science Education of school and pre-school children both in Ankara and in İstanbul, between 16-21 April 2007. Prof. Quéré also visited the Minister of Education and some schools. TUBA Science Education Working Group organized the meetings where all interested parties (Ministry of Education, pilot chools and NGO's) participated with higher level representatives. TUBA is planning to hold an international meeting on Science Education in 2008, in order to discuss the problems of the wider application of the science education methods known as "La main à la pâte" (French Academy of Sciences) or "Inquiry Based Science Education" (IAP) in the world.
